What it does
In short: This script analyzes and returns basic backlink/external link information for a list of submitted URLs. It uses Linkpad crawler's data under the hood.
Please have a look at the example output file to have a better idea of the data you will get.
The data returned should by no means be considered 100% precise, but it provides a great and fast way to perform a basic research on a list of given URLs for later use in your SEO reports or competitive research. The bot has approximately 18 million of websites indexed.
Data is updated (roughly) every two months.
Returned data
Index date
Date when Linkpad bots last crawled the indicated resource. If the crawl never happened - there will be no data to return. New sites and/or sites with very low visits are often not crawled, which is when this algorithm is absolutely useless.
If the site was crawled, however, the algorithm will return the following data, which was valid for the indicated index date:
Index total
Total pages crawled by the bot. This is a reference number which can vary significantly from the actual amount of pages on a domain, or SE index.
Site Mirrors
If the bot found any site mirrors, their quantity will be displayed here.
Same IPs
Shows how many other sites were found using the same IP address. Great for busting satellite networks.
Total links in
Total external links found by the bot on other sites, that point to the selected domain.
Total domains in
Total amount of sites found by the bot that link to the domain in question.
Total anchors in
Total amount of unique link anchor phrases that point to the researched domain from all other sites.
Total IPs in
Sum of all unique IP addresses that contain links to the domain in question. For example if five different sites are linking to the selected domain, but all five websites are hosted on one server, this number would be ONE.
Total subnets in
"A subnet (short for "subnetwork") is an identifiably separate part of an organization's network. Typically, a subnet may represent all the machines at one geographic location, in one building, or on the same local area network (LAN). Having an organization's network divided into subnets allows it to be connected to the Internet with a single shared network address." (TechTarget)
This number shows the amount of subnets respectively.
Donor link rate
The metric consists of two numbers:
- Total amount of domains that link to the found donors (that link to the domain in question)
- Total amount of domains that the site's donors link TO
Large both, large numbers of external AND internal links should trigger suspicion for their validity.
Total links out
Total number of external links that were found on the domain.
Total domains out
Total number of external domain names the site is linking to.
Total anchors out
Total amount of unique link anchor phrases that lead to external documents.
